1. How many programs loAD AT STARTUP?:
start >run >msconfig >selective startup >uncheck load startup items >apply >ok >restart
Disable some non windows services:
start >run >msconfig >services >Hide all Microsoft services >Disable all >Apply >ok >restart
2. Do You have errors on your hard drive?:
my computer >right click c:\ >properties >tools >check now >automatically fix errors >start
If you need to schedule a scandisk on reboot then do so
Repeat step 2 for all hard drive partitions
3. Are you permanently connected to the Internet?:
Delete all temp files, clear your browser history and cookies: use ilsystem wiper and ccleaner.
scan your hard drive for virus: use Avast. Scan for spyware: Use Adaware SE personal and spybot and hijackthis
cleanup the registry: use ccleaner and regseeker. Select to remove only the green regseeker errors
You may need to setup a firewall to.
4. Is your hard drive fragmented?:
my computer >right click c:\ >properties >tools > Defragment now >Analyze >Defragment
Repeat step 4 for all hard drive partitions
5. Try replacing your CMOS battery with a new one. Be sure to unplug power chord from PC first.
You will need to reset the current date and time in Windows and/or bios (To enter bios press F1 or F2 or F10 or DEL or CTRL + ALT + ESC at during startup)
6.Is the fan in the power supply turning?: You mave have to replace your power supply.
