OK, so I got curious and looked up Dayan, and found that a Dayan is
part of a larger rabinical court (Beth Din) that decides Talmudic
questions.  From what I read, it looks like they (the Beth Din)
applies in cases with Orthodox members of the faith, so it should fit
in this case.
