I had one of these for 6 years.
Very nice rig, however, the selectivity on hf was a bit of a disappointment 
to me.
However, there is now an inrad filter for the hf bands which is supposed to 
take care of this.
If I were getting one now, I'd go for a used one if the price was right.
The voice chip is the vs3, and mine went for $39.00.
