Oh yes, they will try to slip one by you if they can. It seemed that no
matter what solution I tried, as long as it was a blind person who was going
to help me, it wasn't satisfactory to the hospital staff. I reluctantly
went along with the skilled nursing facility idea to get more therapy, but
they didn't give me the therapy they promised. Besides, they lost or
someone stole some of my clothes in their laundry and I was accused of
kicking an aid in the stomach which I didn't do at all. So I asked for my
discharge and they stalled around on that for a few days in order to get
more insurance money until I threatened to bring the television media in to
film the place. After that, I was out within an hour which told me that
they definitely had things to hide. I also reported everything to my
insurance company, and I believe they took action but I never heard for
sure. A hearing was scheduled, but had to be postponed due to hurricane
evacuation and I never heard back from them. The only thing I heard was
that they were collecting information that they said would make me happy if
they could release it to me, but the hearing was never rescheduled which may
mean there was no longer a need for it.
