vonage doesn't use the computer. Internet yes, computer no, and the
likelihood of the internet going down is the same as the phone going down if
you put a UPS on it to help against power outages. Most people these days
only have cordless phones anyway which go out in power outages too lol, we
keep corded phones in key places in this house as well just in case, or we
did when we used the house phone. Not anymore.
