Tom,
It won't hurt anything if you transmit on your regular antenna. Just use a
quiet spot on 10 so you won't annoy anyone while you test. Good idea to get
that dummy load since there are times when you may need to test the radio
without the antenna. Call it good operating practice to have one around.
