The one I have, MFJ-998 is high power automatic and with a 20$ cable 
interfaces with the radio.   Hit the tune button on the radio and the  radio 
drops to 5 watts cw mode. The tuner does it's thing and when a match is 
found, the rig returns to it's original power and mode settings.

In your previous post about the TS-2000 you asked about the software reading 
the menus.   If you are referring to the Kenwood MCP-2000 software, yes it 
gives a list of the menus.   After almost 8 years I still  use that list to 
jog my memory  on  what menu does what.   And as for other differences 
between the 2000 and TS-480:  The 480  gives you the option of going with 
the 200 watt model, But the 2000  gives you all mode 2 meters at 100 watts 
and all mode 440 at 50 watts.
