Another fun thing about 10 FM when the sunspot cycle is up, is walking around
or bussing around with a HT on a 2-meter or 440 linked repeater to a 10-meter
repeater. I remember doing that in Spokane and getting quite a few people
curious when they heard this foreign accent on my radio.

Eric,

I worked a lot of 10 FM during the eighties and it really was a lot of fun
working both repeaters all over the world and especially the semplex
frequencies and the direct contacts made there. I worked a Russian
satellite on 29.5 once, too. You sent your call sign on a lower frequency,
listened on 29.5 semplex and if it heard you, it sent your call sign back to
you in the continuous strings of numbers and letters it sent all the time.

Phil.
