The stream needs a card to store file and or books.  It doesn't come with 
one.  Like Phil, I bought mine direct so paid full price.  I also bought a 
card from them at the time as I didn't want to have the stream without a 
card.  They charged me $35 for a 2 gig card I found later that month at 
Sam's club for $10.00.  My own fault I guess, but that is a bit of a 
markup.

I've had my victor stream for a little over a year and really like it.
