Colin,
    Funny picture.  But this has been done with carts in places making 
electronics, and have seen them on cars too.

    Now, a golden retriever, yeah, built in static strap on the tail.  LOL

    Some people are more proine to the buildup due in port to what they 
wear.  Even if a shopping cart is moving slowly, the strap would dissipate 
any buildup.  I agree tho, this could be minimized by paying attention to 
what one wears.

    The internal cochlear implant is safe.  Its the processor that can be at 
risk tho the one I have is pretty solid.  The worst that can happen is the 
programming can be wiped out.  Easily remedied by a visit to the audiologist 
as there would be no lasting damage.
