Absolutely, I use power poles on everything ham radio related. The contacts 
will go on that wire, what I do though for good measure, is fold the exposed 
wire back on the insulation, so the contact is actually going over something 
that will fill the hole a little better, but you don't have to. I've done it 
both ways and it works.
