Hi Bill;
To be on the safe side, when you program repeaters that you rarely use,
leave the tone decode off.
I found that sometimes when I go down to the Jersey shore and I haven'n't
use a repeater for a while, I will think
the repeater is down.
A sighted user wouldn't have to worry about this because he or she can see
the s-meter.
However, since we are not able to see the s-meter then, we would not know if
their is a qso going on or if the repeater was coming back to us or not.
Just a thought.
