Well, the "mycin" products are a whole line of antibiotics. And it all
depends on the manufacturer whether or not lactose is used as an
ingredient. I have in the past had the pharmacy check several mfgs
package inserts to see if they could find one that didn't use lactose
for a specific antibiotic - sometimes successfully, sometimes not.
Fortunately for me, I have usually been able to manage the antibiotics
w/ lactose by having a lactase pill with each dose. So far . . .
Also, I have taken to having lactobacillus acidophilus (spelling?) along
with antibiotics - they tend to be non-discriminatory about what they
kill off in your system, and I find the acidophilus helps my stomach.
