Funny you should mention that.
I've seen programs that find stuff, then try to explain all these
complicated repairs you need to make and registry changes
that need to be made to "scare" you into buying "the cure".

A detailed (manual) look has never found any of the "problem"
registry entries they want to "fix"...
(I use root kit detectors too...)

Disclaimer: YMMV + I might have only seen the "bad" programs.
