There's no reason to think so. It's still MS, and they still have to
accommodate a lot of hardware and software going back a lot of years.
Interestingly, to me, anyway, I've given an old Linux box to a friend
who's never used a computer before, and he's plugging along successfully
with a minimum of questions and no problems at all. (And no AV or
anti-spyware software).
Sometimes I think Spyware will be the death of Windows.
