deleting memories?

I have information in memories of my kenwood ts2k and thd7-ag and tried 
erasing the data but the software wants to put frequencies in the memories 
anyway, how do I get rid of the information in the memory channels so it 
does not come up with a frequency in that memory such as 82 or 157.
