The Victor Stream goes for $290 or more and the Shuffle is $50 or even $40 for a refurbished unit.

The Victor will read text files, might understand more audio formats, and you can change its SD memory card.

Itunes is not needed to transfer files to the shuffle.

It's my understanding, you are stuck with using Itumes to transfer songs to it! This is why I bought the Victor Reader Stream. Much more accessible, does more than the Ipod.
