1)This is caused by dairy products.
I have had middle ear infections as a child and then a mastoid
operation as a child.
No problems when I stopped eating dairy.
2) I have very thick ear wax and have a lot of trouble keeping them
clear.
My Dr. told me to put Mineral Oil in them about once a week.
That helps keep them clear. I haven't had this my whole life, only
since I've been GF.
3) I definitely react to gluten with my ears starting to make very
oily ear
wax. I have a histamine reaction to gluten as well as celiac, so I'm
not
sure whether the celiac part has anything to do with it; I think it's
the
allergic reaction that does it for me.
4) I have lately been reading books by Dr. Doris Rapp who has many
years of
experience with environmental toxins and food allergies. As I
recall, her
comment on ear infections was it seemed to always be associated with
dairy
allergies (allergies in the broader definition).
One of my practitioners told me that my ear dryness and crusties
accumulation was due to an essential fatty acid (EFA) deficiency
which has
been caused by malnutrition currently associated with achlorhydria /
hypochlorhydria and lack of digestive enzymes.
I did have problems with ear wax buildup in my youth which I now
attribute
to celiac disease but I have no proof.
