Hi.
My fiance got a rather nasty surprise Friday morning, when her Sony Dream
Machine delivered a rather severe electrical shock when she went to turn
the alarm off. She said that it made a loud bang and shefelt a jolt of
electricity on her finger shooting up her arm. She couldn't get the
feeling back in that finger for a good part of that morning, and said that
her arm ached for the rest of that day. Sounds like she somehow got a hold
of live 120 volts, and luckily wasn't terribly well grounded when she did it.
Anyway, we are trying to figure out whether the radio was at fault or
whether there is something wrong with that outlet. I loaned her an RCA
talking clock radio that I have and brought the Sony back over here, but
haven't as yet figured out how I'm going to evaluate what went wrong.
My first question is whether or not anyone has heard of anything like this
happening with that model of radio, and is there anything out there with a
radio and CD player that is equivalent or better, if we determine that this
unit is no longer fit for use?
