The TS-480 makes a great mobile, I know a couple people running them that
way, very little space, I guess it's very accessible though I don't have one
here, that's 160 through 6 meters anyway, then just come up with a duel
bander and you're good to go.
They actually make sheets for installing radios in cars? I just always did
it how ever I wanted, usually running power with the main wiring harness in
the car, and coax how ever I could weather it be through the trunk and up
under the back seat and up the molding under the doors over to the radio, or
just through the door jam, as long as you put it as far back as you can it
won't leak but don't do it in the middle I learned, with a radio with
detachable face, you can just put it up under the seat or what ever and then
you know it's away from computers and stuff and you should really be fine. I
have 2 meters in the family car and I just wedged it between the seat and
consul which is a pretty common thing I'm seeing more and more lately with
less and less places to mount those radios, no holes either. Works out very
well but I know people with HF radios in about every vehicle you can imagine
and I don't know anyone who's ever had a problem with it.
