Thanks to everyone on the list who has responded to my inquiries about the
G5RV VS. a windom.

I thought I'd ssend a general post, rather than responding to everyone
individually.

The guy who has offered to make me a windom says that I need a 4 to 1 balun,
plus approx 235 feet of high-quality wire.

For the wire, he recommends something he calls flexible weave wire.

Anyone ever heard of it?

Also, I guess I'd need a 4 to 1 balun.

Will have to check at HRO, AES, or R and L for one of them.

So, I'm now leaning toward the windom, I think.

My only other concern is how to get it up high enough. My tower is 35 feet
high, and I'd probably want the antenna to be a bit higher, especially for
80 and 160 mneters.

But, will start working on that.

Any other thoughts that listers have would be appreciated.

73 and thanks again from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ
