        Hi.
        Some things:
-If you combine an HD and a slow CD on the same IDE cable,
on most chipsets HD performance will be degraded (I think TX is
an exception).
-You can look for a third IDE channel on sound cards and
perhaps dedicated IDE cards. 1E8+ and 168+ are the usual addresses,
and the interrupt is not fixed. But the os and the device software
should recognise the third IDE.
-You can probably go SCSI, preferably substituting your
scanner card.

Starting point: (-1)^(-1) = -1
Applying logarithms: (-1)*ln(-1) = ln(-1)
Since ln(-1) <> 0, dividing: -1 = 1
     (ln(-1) is complex, but exists)
