Dan,

We are all here to speak up for your old bricks.
But may I suggest that you go buy some nice garden bricks? It would be
so admirably romantic.
On a Saturday morning take her out to the brick yard. Let her choose an
assortment.
Or maybe you can find a masonry cooperative for a swap of holed bricks
for ones with no holes?

My wife recently informed me that we live in a workshop.
Tools, and books, all over the place. She noticed.
After 30+ years I responded that it is not like she had no fair warning.
We have always lived in a workshop.
So now I am trying to understand compartmentalization.
