You can get antennas that you can mount to a wooden rail, any base station 
antenna you can do that, and I have a couple mobile antennas in my go kit 
for real fast setup that don't need a ground plain and you can do that with 
those. In fact, on vacation the last few years, that's exactly how I mounted 
1 of them. This year though, if I even can go on any vacation, the go kit is 
staying home since I"m only going for a week and it's way too much to lug 
for just a week.
