HI my name is Jennifer kc9a g r I got my first license in 2001. And a couple of years later or so I got my General. I just passed the extra in January. I still have allot to learn. I live in Janesville WI. I really enjoy echo link. I like it because I can talk to just about anyone. I have the TS2000 with everything in it. I got a good deal on it. I also have the TMV7A. I also have the THF6A, the VX5R and the Vertex 150 hand held. I do some HF I will probably get in to more later. I am in the process of learning how to do the computer program for the TS2000. It will make life easier. I am also going to set up a radio with an interface so I can run echo link with my hand held. I also go to the Handy Ham camps twice a year. They are the ones that help me get started in the hobby. I really enjoy it because I have met so many nice people. Okay I have one question for now.
What I want to know is where I can get a push up pole I want to put one antenna on it away from the other ones. I have called R And L, AES, and they do not have them. I found out that MFJ have them. But the problem is that it is made out of aluminum and the top is .625 inches and the bottom is 2 inches. That is not a very strong pole. I am going to call them back to see what kind of aluminum it is. I did not think to ask them this question. Also I am looking in to getting a crank up fold up tower. The thing is I can not get anyone to climb the tower because they are either to old or afraid of heights. And from research it seems to me that is the way to go to bring the antennas down to me. and then no one has to climb.
