Bill it depended on the radio. Some had a tuner that you could receive with
and you just needed a crystal for the transmitter. Others you needed a
crystal for both the rx and tx.

Subject: old crystal radios

Hi to all,
As I have said earlier, My first 2 meter radio used crystals. I think =
they used to call them rock bottom radios. any way, I was wondering when =
you bought crystals did they come individually or in pairs? for example =
if you wanted to get crystals for the repeater frequencies 146 34 146 =
94 did you have to buy individual crystals or did they come in a pair?
Bill
