Compaired to what.  Various rubber ducks have varying amounts compared to 
the standard refference, which I think is a quarter wave whip.  Their is 
much less VHF UHF activity than you remember.  To get a noticable 
improvement, try a 5/8 wave on a file cabbinet.  The whip has more than the 
duck, but that might be negated by being a step to the right or left of 
where you were standing with the duck.
