Hi, everyone.

Well, finally, I got my second TS480 on the air today. ... Made a 40-meter
CW contact with a guy in Arkansas. Got very good signal reports, and he
indicated that the rig sounded great.

So, now it's onto the world of SSB phone and the MC60 mic.

I did notice that the cooling fan seems a bit loud on this particular TS480.
The cooling fan on my other TS480 doesn't seem to be quite as noticeable.

I seem to recall that loud cooling fans are an issue occasionally with
Kenwoods; in fact, I know that the cooling fan on one of my older TMV7A's
got so loud that I eventually replaced it.

Anyone had any experience with louder than usual cooling fans on the TS480?

If you did, what did you do to quiet it down, short of replacing it?

Just curious.
