Hello, listmates!  I wrote to Smirnoff Ice to inquire about their "malt" beverage and got this response.  Have you had experience with the drink and is it really safe, as they claim?

In regards to your inquiry, the malt base in Smirnoff Ice may have initially
contained gluten but the distillation process removes the proteins that
contains the allergen. Therefore,  Smirnoff Ice is considered to be gluten
free.
