Per a specific request, here is a summary of Maine restaurants. Happy
hunting!
*Statewide*: Paula shares the Celiac Group’s comprehensive *list of
restaurants throughout Maine* – mostly NOT chains:

If this link does not work, email Paula ([log in to unmask]), who leads
the Celiac Group that manages this list.
*Kennebunk*: Judy says *“On the Waterfront” in Kennebunk* was good to her.
Cynthia offers *Anello’s pastries near Kennebunk* (
http://www.specialgourmets.com/index/view-place/placeId/10757).
*Portland*: Cynthia offers this list for *Portland, ME* (
http://tinyurl.com/portlandmaine) – the list is mostly chain restaurants.
Paula also recommends *GRO Cafe, at 437 Congress Street in Portland*,
207-541-9119. This is a new vegetarian and gluten-free restaurant. The menu
is online at: http://www.grofoods.com/menu.htm. Though she does not know
anyone who has been here yet, it looks promising.
*South of Portland*: Roxanne shares that around the Maine Mall, there are
many chain restaurants that offer gluten-free menus, including Outback,
Macaroni Grill and Olive Garden.
*Scarborough*: Beth offers *Lois's Natural Foods on Route 1 in Scarborough*.
Most of their soups and salads are gluten-free, and they almost always have
several freshly baked goods to pick from. They also have all of the gluten
free grocery products you could want. It us 5 minutes south of Portland on
your way to Kennebunk.
