Al,
Try googling "Iexplore must close" When I get an error message google has most of the answers. I suspect spyware has made a home on your computer. This has some information about what to do.

Subject: [PCBUILD] registrycleaner& iexplore
I just built a computer for a friend, she's had it a week and OH-OH!!
The registrycleaner pops up any time, also Iexplore must close and she loses her work. I didn't find an index in archives, so I came here for help. She has a friend who uses her unit??? Win2Kpro, CPU 1.8Ghz, RAM 512Mb.
Can someone help me please ?? AL SMITH
