Hi:

I have a 220 and a 440 beam antenna mounted on a metal mast. The 220 is
doing a super job but the 440 is not. Standing wave on each is fine. Both
are vertical. They are not near any trees or buildings. The 440 is on the
top of the mast and the 220 is about 4 feet below it. A friend said they
may be too close to each other and that verticals should not be mounted on a
metal mast as the mast becomes interactive with the driven element. Both
are end mounted, meanwhile, another says the mast is not the problem and
that 1/4 wave length separation is sufficient. I no longer have an antenna
book and don't have the antenna assembly directions. Any thoughts?

Thanks.
