On some bands I've seen my g5RV beat, in performance, a dipole cut for
certain bands, or at least match it. Not often but I have a 40 meter dipole
and compared to my G5RV, the 40 meter one is noisier and beyond that about
equal though the SWR is 1/1. I'm sorry I put up the 40 meter dipole to be
honest, I thought it would be so much better.
