Hi
I am trying to wire a mike for a CB mobile. I know that the word CB is like swaring but they need their mikes wired too. I have a problem in that I had to rewire the key switch in the microphone head. Now then I have receive working perfectly but when I key the mike there is a terrible squeal. This would indicate feed back to the receiver But I can't figure out where. The switch has ground on pin one, receive on pin two and transmit on pin three. There are actually six pins but only three appear to be needed for the project. The radio plug has Receive on pin one, transmit on pin two, ground on pin three and mike audio on pin four. I soldered the ground pin on the mike to the ground on the switch. I soldered the receive plug pin to the receive pin on the switch. The wire for the mike goes from the audio pin on the plug, to the microphone element and then to the transmit pin on the switch. The transmit pin on the plug is soldered directly to the transmit pin on the switch.
This looks like it should work but since it doesn't. What am I doing wrong?
     I appreciate everyone's advice.

Thank you and God bless,
Mark

Back in the day when printed material required each letter on the sheet to be carefully laid out in a print box, the letters "p" and "q" were sometimes mistaken for one another, and that's where the phrase "mind your 'p's and 'q's" comes from.
