Hi Mark,
I never had the ringo ranger but I remember hearing about it.  It was one of 
those antannas I all ways wanted to get but never did.  I once had a ground 
plain that I set up in my apartment.  I don't remember what I used to hold 
it up but it worked all right with the local repeaters.  At that time I was 
using the Drake 22 c which only put out one wat.
