I recently got a 703+ (703 with six meters).  It works pretty well.
I would say to also get the millenium qsyer.  This is a keypad which will 
plug into the 703 and give you direct frequency entery, and direct entry 
memory acess.
With this and the uts-102 speech board, the 703 is a good option.
