It can speak the S meter if you set it to which is easy. The power setting 
doesn't speak, but it beeps at the highest setting and lowest setting and 
stops there so once you're on high it won't rap around to low again, or on 
low it won't rap around to high it will just beep until you turn it the 
other day. Each click on the dial is 5 watts so you can just count clicks if 
you want 50 watts or what ever.
