Steve,

I wouldn't automatically blame the antenna for the RFI.  An improperly tuned 
or improperly grounded amplifier could also cause the problem.  It's also 
possible that the equipment receiving the RFI might be poorly shielded, 
poorly grounded, or all of the above.  RFI can be difficult to track down, 
and it's all too easy to blame it on the wrong thing.
