Actually, the top edge of the cover curves around so that the crack where it
meets the radio appears to be about a quarter inch from the front. Even if
you were to use a screwdriver to remove the cover, you wouldn't have to work
very hard, so you wouldn't damage the cover or the radio. Kenwood did a
very nice job of designing that cover so it looks like it's an integral part
of the radio.
