Also, perhaps I never allowed my son to stand up on his own and to take 
responsibility for his own actions as I ought was because I had to care for 
my husband's every need.  My husband became a child in every way down to me 
having to change his diapers.  I was trying at the same time to be a parent 
for a growing boy.  My daughter was grown and out of the house as my son was 
embarking on adolescents.
