I have a friend who is dying of a heart condition because the doc
blew the routine operation and cut off the blood to his heart muscle
so he is now on his second stem cell treatment trying to save his
life. Took him a couple of years of badgering them before they told
him what went wrong as he was in a coma for a week.
The first one in Mexico for $10,000 did not work. He is now trying a
far more expensive one $60,000 where they take the blood in Florida,
send it to Israel to be recombined and then you fly to the Dominican
to have it put in. On January 20th he will take a new test to see if
it is working. He does sound stronger right now but it may be hope
from a placebo effect. I am hoping for the best from this and will
let the list know the outcome. My son does have cord stem cells from
Case's brother with CP so if this does become viable therapy we will
be ecstatic. I think it will be great soon and am sorry that Bush did
not fund the research. We are 38th in the world in health care and I
got an operation I needed out of the country for 30% of our cost and
people thought I was taking a big chance. Well it was better heath
care than I have gotten here. I am devastated to think the insurance
companies are running the health care bill into the ground.
Case needs another perc lengthening and his parents cannot afford it
because they still owe from the first one, yet they have what is
called great insurance but this operation is out of network. It also
costs less and does less damage than the traditional cutting which
can over lengthen. Go figure our country is nuts. No decent health
care, infrastructure crumbling, unemployment skyrocketing and we will
put people to work only by making them soldiers and sending them to a
country that supplies the world with heroin. You can absolutely look
for cheap heroin to be the next big drug addiction and our armed
services will be importing it to us. I am very disappointed in Obama
for expanding this war. He should turn down the peace prize. The
social costs to our vet families will be unfathomable and we will pay
for years. When I was in college one Viet vet who lived next door
blew his brains out cause he could not live with the consequences of
war. One of our Hawaii neighbors did the same on his return from
Iraq. In Hawaii I witnessed many of these young guys coming back who
are now alcoholics. Bring our troops home and put them to work here.
Sorry if I am bumming you out during the holidays. Hope everyone is
enjoying as much as possible in these trying times.
