Hi Jyotsna,

I lurk on this listserv and don't write much here, but find it to be a joy and inspiration.

I have an 11 year old son who has CP and other disabilities and I have homeschooled him for the past 3 years. It is difficult to know where to start to help, since you are so far away from me -- I am in Texas.

I want to tell you this -- you can do it! Start by investigating all the Assistive Technology you can get for your daughter from whatever source you can get it. Find therapists and people who can teach you proper exercises for your daughter. Go online and search for websites on homeschooling. There is a wealth of information on the internet. If you can, find out what curricula are available in your local school, and if you can get it. If not, don't worry, you can make your own based on what your daughter needs to learn. You will teach her just as any child will be taught, but her way of responding may be different. You will find out what works best.

If you can think of specific questions, I'll be happy to answer what I can, either on this listserv or email me privately at [log in to unmask]

My church supports a mission in Mumbai. Your letter touched my heart.

Best wishes and blessings,
Wanda Williams
