We just got power at the house, THANK YOU BENNETT! 75% of Houston is
still out, 95% of Entergy's customers are out, all of which live north
of Houston in the piney woods, I don't need to explain the reason. Great
photo this morning in the Chronicle, over at the horse track, thousands
of out of state power and tree companies ready to roll (it was from
yesterday morning).
The D.E.C. (Daddy Electric Company)is off life. Got to thinking this
morning, there were four generators running on our street, two of them
mine, I almost had a monopoly going.
"I Am the Power Company".

Glad to hear all is well enough. Ike got here yesterday afternoon. Wind
was
blowing 40 to 70 by 6:00 PM. That's when we lost power until 3:45 AM
today.
Spent a couple hours outside watching and listening as the apples blew
out
of the orchard trying to imagine what it must have been like in Texas.
Couldn't.
Hope that's the worst you and yours have to live through for years to
come.
Rudy

Rudy,
Yes, everyone related to me is fine. Don't know much about any others,
though. Heard last night. Phone lines are out. No power, not much
damage. A bit nerved out but making do. My brother called while out
looking for gas for generators -- seems stations are either empty of
fuel or closed. Invalided stepfather is in a bit of a fix as they are
moving him out of the nursing home they took him to because there is no
electricity, but he is moving back home where oddly there is.
Best,
