that is good to know. you are a wealth of information deri. i will not worry about them now if i can actually find some with the really small base for my bed room. 
i'd told judy i did not want any of those none standard light fixtures and she still picks one for the bedroom that is really tiny and the lights are costly. i'd like to get the longer lasting floresants, but i found none at the home depot. and of course wal mart does not have them.
