I, as most others, have listened to years of saturated commercials from e
harmony dot com. I think the founder of the organization is a born again
Christian but I don't know this for certain. Anyhow, something finally
dawned on me one day. They talk about filling out this compatibility form
of, what is it, 29 dynamics of compatibility in order to perfectly match you
with somebody else? Anyhow, suddenly I realized, what ever happened to
opposites attract. I mean, I have marriage tapes by Tim La Hay who taught
on why opposites attract and make good marriages. I realize times have
changed but have marriage relationship changed, too? I have spoken
personally to several people who have logged on to the website. Half had
fair to good experiences meeting someone, and the other half got nothing for
the time and money. When you hear how many marriages have occurred through
e harmony relationships, don't you ever wonder how many failures of those
marriages, not to mention failures to meet somebody at all, have occurred?
I do. Once again, we discover the church has dropped the ball on this one.
Where are the successful singles ministries. Oh, sure. I know of several
here in Denver and some mega churches and even some small churches but the
people I have interviewed about their experiences in such single ministries,
is always negative, for some reason. What gives here? Is the church so
weak now that it needs an online singles matching network to find people
their mates God has for them? On e harmony, what happens if you aren't a
good, or perfect, match? Do you get to pick people who are your opposite to
try? Sorry, just a happily married man thinking out loud, that's all. By
the way, the Lord found a wife for me basically through the church in a very
miraculous manner. Way to go God. I'm sorry we can't rely on your judgment
as much any more. We'll build larger churches, to reach more singles,
instead so I hope that is ok with you, lord.

Phil.
