Mari,

I am there for her ... as best as I know how ... and God will do the rest.

I am glad you're using that phrase, "standing in the gap" as I did in my
post yesterday.

I felt sure it was a Scripture somewhere so looked it up last night and
found the reference I wanted in Ezekiel 22:29-31

I know that, here, the Lord was passing judgment on Israel, but I give the
verse in context, even though my heart really was just saying "I want to
stand in the gap for these people, Lord". Praise Him, now that the New
Covenant has come, He stands in the gap (before His Father) interceding for
us; and we can stand for others ... That's really what I was saying.

Anyway, here's the Scripture:

29 The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they
oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the alien, denying them justice.

30 "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand
before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy
it, but I found none. 31 So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume
them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have
done, declares the Sovereign LORD."

Please continue to keep us posted!
