Sharon,

Yes, it is a very serious story but there are just ways of viewing it that
to me, make it humorous. Like Elijah running and hiding in the cave and God
asking him, What are you doing in here? Elijah tries to justify why he is
running away after one of the greatest victories of his whole ministry.
Then God breaks boulders with a mighty wind, pretty strong wind to do that,
burns the mountain, made of stone, with fire, and then shake the ground with
a huge earthquake and after all that, comes back and says, Elijah, what are
you doing in here? Elijah, after all these miraculous events, ends up
repeating his same story. It is just funny to me. The funny part of the
story about Moses was where Aaron said, Well, I tossed in all these earrings
of gold and out came this calf. Like he had nothing to do with molding the
god they started worshipping, which, of course, was a freaking cow, for pity
sakes, and Aaron acts like it was an accident the cow came out of the mold.
That's what seems funny to me.

Phil.
