The TM-V708 uses a VS3 speech module, which will not work in either of
the radios your mentioned. 

The TS-440 uses a VS1 and the TM-V71A uses the VGS1.

I have a Kenwood TM-V708 dual band mobile that has the speech board and
I'm thinking about selling it to a sighted person who doesn't need
speech.  Does anyone know if the speech board in that radio will work in
either the
Kenwood TS440 or the new Kenwood TM-V71A?
