Hi again,

First of all, I hit the 7 key only once picking the first setting after
the low beep. This is the one that activates the pl encoder.

Then, I hit the function key and 7 to enter the tone frequency.

Next I turn the tuning knob until I hear a beep. This lets you know you
are on the first pl tone selection. That's actually tone 1.

Next, start turning the knob and counting the clicks until you get to
the frequency tone you want and finally press the joystick to the right
to confirm.

It took me a while to figure out that the position of the knob with the
beep is really position 1 and you start counting from there. That is,
one click sets you to the second tone in the selection and so forth.

Also, I don't believe the tuning knob reverts to position 1 once you
leave the pl tone selection menu which is why I always make certain to
turn the knob until I hear the beep and then I know for sure I'm on
position 1.

Hope this makes some sense,

Don
