Hi Eric,
First of all, Yes, you do enter the pound sign and then enter the
frequency using the asterisk as the decimal such as in 146.94 where the
. is pressed by hitting the asterisk.
As for the pl tones etc., you can get all sorts of documentation on the
thf-6a at:
http://www.icanworkthisthing.com and all the files are in .txt format
including a list of pl tones, manual, menus, and keyboard layout.
